Course Description: This module provides an overview of the rights recognized by HB 24-1017 for youth transitioning to adulthood. The attorney’s role in ensuring young people are set up for success include engaging and empowering young people with the information necessary for them to make important decisions about their own transition to adulthood and advocating for young people’s wishes related to their transition to adulthood.
Learning Objectives:
- The attorney will understand the provisions in § 19-7-101(2)(i).
- The attorney will be able to implement strategies for advocating for the rights outlined in § 19-7-101(2)(i).
- The attorney will apply the suggested discussion topics based on age and developmental level of their clients.
