Purpose: To assist GALs in the development of case strategy and effective advocacy by offering a multidisciplinary perspective on case-related issues. The sessions will utilize an OCR staff attorney and a licensed mental health professional to provide guidance on topics related to mental health, treatment, assessment, social services, etc.
Format: Case Strategy Sessions are structured around questions submitted in advance, with the facilitators and participants engaging in active discussion, brain-storming, and sharing of experiences as related to the issues presented.
Examples of topics include: Identifying mental health issues; Identifying appropriate resources or treatment options; Access to resources, services; Safety planning; Assessing treatment plans etc.
