Client-Directed Representation: How Stakeholders Can Support Implementation

Description

HB22-1038 was passed unanimously in both chambers, signed by the Governor in April, and is effective January 9, 2023. This bill provides for client-directed representation for youth ages 12 and older in dependency and neglect cases. This does not change the appointment of a GAL for children ages 11 and younger in D&N cases or the appointment of a GAL in other case types (juvenile delinquency, domestic relations etc.). This webinar will inform stakeholders of the basics of the bill, what changes for youth and what doesn’t, and what stakeholders can do to support effective implementation of this bill.

CLE is pending and will be posted here when received.
