The Colorado State Supreme Court granted certiorari on issues surrounding the proper standard for assessing, and procedures for reviewing, ineffective assistance of counsel claims in appeals from termination of parental rights orders. The Colorado Supreme Court consolidated this case with A.R. v. D.R., 18 SC 919. The OCR filed briefs of amicus curiae on both cases. Oral argument is scheduled in November 2019.
